About the Cottage: There is A Bronze-age rath or fort adjacent to the farmyard, forts have traditionally been associated with the siodha, wee folk or leprechauns and in ancient times they were used by some of the first settlers or farmers as safe havens for their homesteads and on which to contain their livestock at night. Cathy Hackets is a centrally located quaint little double bedroomed cottage en suite. Open fire. Stone chimney, Roof beams. Warm ambience. Adjacent to the O' Donnells family home. Bronze age fort. Warm welcome.

Things to do in the area:- TENNIS - in local village are two excellent tarmac courts GOLF - 18 hole championship in Thurles and 9 hole in Templemore FISHING - The river Suir offers Trout and Salmon, the river Shannon/Lough Derg offer coarse and game. Numerous local streams (Watch the fish jump the weir in season). EQUESTRIAN - Great hunting country, excellent jumps, drains etc.. on farm. Expert tuition available PITCH & PUTT - Available in Thurles or Templemore GAELIC GAMES - Regularly played at local park WATERSPORTS - Windsurfing on Lough Derg. Swimming in pure spring water in local Clodiah River. WALKS - Quiet country roads & laneways, or just ramble trou' gields and meadows. MOUNTAINS - Enjoy the challenges of the local Devil's Bit Mountain HANGLIDING - The local Devil's Bit is recommended as a suitable site (Equipment not supplied) DREAMTIME - Memories are made to Last here.
